Highlights for Friday, 07 November 2008
On Friday, the forty-fourth session of the International Tropical Timber Council (ITTC) held its last full day of discussions in Yokohama, Japan. For most of the day, participants met in informal working groups to discuss the ITTO Action Plan and the drafting of decisions.
In the afternoon, the Committees on Finance and Administration, Economic Information and Market Intelligence; Forest Industry, and Reforestation and Forest Management met to conclude their deliberations. The Council met in the evening to discuss the promotion of trade in sustainably produced timber, the ITTO Fellowship Programme, the draft Annual Report for 2007 and dates and venue of the next Council session.
In the morning, delegates met in separate Producer and Consumer Group meetings. |
