The Open-Ended Committee of Permanent Representatives (OECPR) is the main intersessional organ of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA). Comprising all accredited Permanent Representatives to UN Environment Programme, the Committee prepares for the meetings of UNEA and regularly reviews the implementation of its decisions.

The online session of the fifth session of the Committee (OECPR-5) will take place virtually from 15-16 February 2021. The meeting is expected to adjourn on 16 February and resume at a date to be decided during the online session of the fifth session of UNEA, which will meet virtually from 22-23 February 2021. The OECPR is expected to prepare draft decisions on:

• a medium-term strategy for 2022-2025 and programme of work and budget for the biennium 2022-2023;
• the management of trust funds and earmarked contributions; and
• the resumption of the fifth sessions of UNEA and OECPR.

The OECPR-5 online discussions will further address:

• Implementation of previously adopted resolutions;
• Administrative and budgetary issues;
• Contribution to the meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development;
• Progress on the implementation of UN General Assembly Resolution 73/333; and
• A draft Chair’s summary.
