||
The 22nd meeting of the Plants Committee (PC22) of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) reconvened in Tbilisi, Georgia on 21 October 2015. During the morning, participants met in working groups to address Malagasy ebonies (Diospyros spp.) and Malagasy rosewoods (Dalbergia spp.), nomenclature and the draft guidance on making non-detriment findings for tree species. In the afternoon, participants convened in plenary. They addressed a number of issues, including: amendment of the appendices with respect to extinct or possibly extinct species; cooperation with other biodiversity-related multilateral environmental agreements, including the Convention on Biological Diversity; timber identification; and capacity building. A side event on a guide to CITES-listed tree species took place. |
