 Nineteenth Meeting of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Plants Committee (PC)

 On Tuesday, PC19 working groups convened throughout the day. The working groups on NDFs, the periodic review, amendments to appendices, and the PC work-plan finalized their work. On the NDFs, the working group discussed how to review and use the feedback received from parties to assist scientific authorities in making NDF, and how to take forward the discussions on guidelines on NDFs jointly with the Animals Committee. On the RST, the working group discussed the provisional category of concern assigned to each species selected for review following COP 14. On annotations, a working group developed working definitions for a number of undefined terms such as essential oil, extract, finished product, packaged and ready for retail, and powder. Working groups are expected to address outstanding issues related to annotations and the RST for Madagascar on Wednesday morning, before plenary resumes.
