The preparatory segment of COP-8 to the Vienna Convention and MOP-20 to the Montreal Protocol convened for its final day in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, 18 November 2008.
During the morning, delegates convened in plenary to consider issues related to the report of the 7th Meeting of the Ozone Research Managers (ORM), and also to address other matters.
During the afternoon, delegates continued deliberations in contact groups on replenishment, methyl bromide, destruction, budget, and MDI essential use and campaign production.
In the evening, delegates reconvened in plenary for the final session of the preparatory segment. Delegates agreed to forward several draft decisions, including on, essential uses for MDIs and the Vienna Convention Trust Fund, to the high level segment.
Delegates will reconvene on Wednesday, for the opening of the high level segment. |
