CHAPTER I. MISSION STATEMENT

This chapter, which contains five paragraphs, begins by noting that the Platform is an agenda for women"s empowerment and goes on to: reaffirm the human rights of women; emphasize the necessity of partnership between women and with men; call for immediate and concerted action; and identify the need for a strong commitment from Governments, international organizations and institutions at all levels.
