 The twenty-fourth meeting of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer will be held from 12-16 November 2012 in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting, held during the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Protocol, will consider, inter alia: issues related to Article 2 of the Protocol, including essential-use exemptions for chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) in 2013, nominations for critical-use exemptions for 2014, and feedstock uses; additional information on alternatives to ozone-depleting substances; procedural issues related to the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel and its subsidiary bodies; evaluating the financial mechanism of the Protocol; and proposed amendments to the Protocol.
