The Second Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) Forum will address the overarching theme of ‘Financing Sustainable Energy for All,’ and will include the launch of a new Global SE4All Commitment Platform and the first-ever Global Energy Ministerial Dialogue at the UN. Among the main objectives of the Forum are: assessing the progress of the SE4All initiative; inspiring action and solutions by sharing knowledge, innovation and success stories; offering new approaches to track progress towards 2030 based on the 2nd biennial SE4All Global Tracking Framework; and expanding the broader movement of global stakeholders to advance the UN Decade of Sustainable Energy for All (2014-2024). The Forum programme will be structured in line with these four objectives as follows: networking and outreach activities on 17 May; parallel multi-stakeholder sessions on ‘Innovations, Sharing Progress and Matchmaking’ on 18 and 19 May; the Global Energy Ministerial on 20 May; and a closing session focusing on actions and commitments on 21 May. An Advisory Board meeting co-convened by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim will take place on 19 May. |
