On Friday afternoon, the closing plenary of the AWG-KP convened. No conclusions were adopted, but the work done at the first part of AWG-KP 9 is reflected in non-papers that will be used as the basis for revised documentation for the second part ofw AWG-KP 9. In closing, Chair John Ashe (Antigua and Barbuda) emphasized that "a higher level of ambition remains central to our work" and told parties he would see them in "three short weeks" in Barcelona, urging parties to use the intersessional period to consult with one another so that real progress could be made at the second part of AWG-KP 9. He closed the meeting at 2:40 pm. |
