Highlights for Tuesday, 15 October 2013

On Tuesday, SBSTTA 17 delegates met in plenary throughout the day to engage in panel discussions on facilitating through scientific and technical means implementation of, and assessing the effects of measures on, Strategic Goal B on reducing direct pressures on biodiversity and promoting sustainable use, and Strategic Goal C on improving the status of biodiversity by safeguarding ecosystems, species and genetic diversity. Each panel discussion was followed by delegations’ statements.

An informal session aiming to identify key building blocks for the meeting’s conclusions and recommendations convened in the evening.
