This video showcases the opportunities and the challenges of new methods to reduce CO2 emissions, focusing on carbon capture, utilization and storage technologies (CCUS). It is based on the side event on CCUS technologies organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 11 December 2018, during the Katowice Climate Change Conference – December 2018. The video shows that CCUS is critical for achieving global climate objectives and is ready for use, but that there is a need for more effective and stable market mechanisms in order to scale up this type of technology.
