What are the transformative actions required to advance a green structural transformation that leaves no nation behind and puts the world on track to meet multilateral environmental goals?
Launched at the UN Environment Assembly in December 2017, the UN Science-Policy-Business Forum on the Environment (UN-SPBF) is the United Nations’ inter-agency, multi-sector convening platform on the environment. The Forum builds on partnerships to scale up solutions and grow green technology markets, ones that are driven by advances in science and technology, empowering policies, and innovative financing.
To help answer this question, the UN Science-Policy-Business Forum on the Environment (UN-SPBF) will, at COP 28, convene partners for a high-level presidential event as well as for interactive discussions on themes, such as the inclusive and equitable transition towards green energy and the benefits of climate-resilient infrastructure investments. The Member-State-led global cooperation initiative The Data for the Environment Alliance will also hold a meeting—its first gathering since its Expert Group was declared “in session” in Vienna in September 2022.
The Earth Negotiations Bulletin (ENB) will cover the following UN-SPBF events at COP 28:
- 1 December, Addressing the Climate Crisis and Human Settlements Nexus in Africa through Integrated Multilateral Action: Articulating Vision and Opportunity
- 1 December, Shaping a Climate-Resilient 21st Century: Role of Industry and Finance in Supporting the Adaptation Agenda
- 4 December, Unleashing Climate-Resilient Infrastructure Investments
- 5 December, The Future of Energy: Leaving No One Behind
- 6 December, Big Data, Big DEAL
