He has followed intergovernmental processes relating to climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable development in several different capacities: as an adviser for the Peruvian delegation; as a researcher for the Freie Universität Berlin and Columbia University; and as a legal consultant for the UNFCCC Secretariat.
In 2015, the Alexander Humboldt Foundation awarded him a fellowship for his research on the implementation of international climate change law in developing countries. He holds a Ph.D. in Public International Law from Justus-Liebig University in Giessen, Germany, and LL.M. in Advanced Human Rights Studies from UC3 Madrid, Spain, and European Law from Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu, Romania.
