Deborah Davenport is a Writer and Editor for Earth Negotiations Bulletin. She holds a BA in Spanish and Music from Wellesley College, an MA in International Studies from the University of Salford, UK, and a PhD in Political Science from Emory University. An American national, she has taught international relations and environmental politics and policy at universities in Mississippi, Georgia, the UK, and the United Arab Emirates.
Deborah is the author of Global Environmental Negotiations and US Interests (Palgrave MacMillan 2006) as well as numerous articles and book chapters. In her free time, she is also a freelance academic editor and self-accompanied singer of jazz standards.
Deborah has worked with IISD since 1996, primarily covering forest and climate change processes, including the finalization of the Kyoto Protocol in 1997 as well as the ITTC, the UNFF and its predecessors, and the GEF. She has covered the IPCC since 2014.
