Highlights for Friday, 12 November 2010 |
Montreal Protocol MOP-22 convened for its final day in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, 12 November 2010.
Throughout the day, delegates convened in plenary to hear statements by heads of delegations as part of the High-level segment. During both the morning and afternoon sessions, the High-level segment was briefly suspended, at which time the Preparatory segment reconvened to approve available decisions for forwarding to the High-level segment.
The contact group on TORs for the evaluation of the financial mechanism also met in an effort to complete its work.
An evening plenary was convened, where the High-level segment adopted decisions on: a TEAP report on ODS destruction technologies; budget; ToRs for a TEAP study on replenishment of the financial mechanism; and evaluation of the financial mechanism.
MOP-22 President Steven Reeves, UK, gavelled the meeting to a close at 8:11pm.

Highlights for Thursday, 11 November 2010 |
Montreal Protocol MOP-22 convened for its fourth day in Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday, 11 November 2010.
In the morning, delegates attended the opening of the high-level segment. Delegates then convened in plenary throughout the day to hear presentations by heads of delegations.
Contact groups on OSD destruction, QPS uses of methyl bromide, evaluation of the financial mechanism and replenishment of the MLF, an informal group on low-GWP alternatives, and the Budget Committee met throughout the day.

Highlights for Monday, 8 November 2010 |
The preparatory segment of the twenty-second Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (MOP-22) began in Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday 8 November, 2010.
Delegates heard an opening address by Prepat Vanapitaksa, Director General, Department of Industrial Works, Thailand, who opened the meeting. Throughout the morning plenary session, delegates agreed to the organization of work and initiated discussions on issues related to the financial mechanism, status of HCFCs blended in polyols, environmentally sound management (ESM) of banks of ozone depleting substances (ODS) and membership of Montreal Protocol bodies for 2011.
During the afternoon plenary, delegates considered the proposals to amend the Protocol to include HFCs. Contact groups on the financial mechanism and ODS destruction met during the evening
