The Eye on Earth Symposium will gather experts to discuss evidence-based decision making for environmental and natural resource aspects of sustainable development and to present data that enables sustainable development. Discussions will focus on catalyzing and strengthening multilateral partnerships, including:
The Symposium will take place on 22-24 October 2018 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and will facilitate knowledge-exchange and cross-geography expert networking opportunities. It is convened by the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), the co-founder of the Eye on Earth movement, in partnership with the UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA) and the Eye on Earth Alliance.The Symposium will take place in parallel to the 2nd UN World Data Forum, which is supported by the Statistics Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, under the guidance of the United Nations Statistical Commission and the High-Level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for Statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.Participants are encouraged to “see, hear and speak” in a mixture of presentations, panel discussions, and in-depth workshops also through remote participation.
