The EnergyNow SDG7 Action Forum is taking place one year after the UN High-level Dialogue on Energy in 2021. Discussions will focus on progress on the Global Roadmap for Accelerated SDG7 Action that was developed as a result of the Dialogue and the energy action commitments and solutions that were announced at that September 2021 event. According to a recent progress report, over 185 voluntary Energy Compact commitments have been registered, totalling over USD 600 billion, to accelerate energy access and a just, inclusive energy transition.
Speakers during the virtual event on 23 September 2022, which is taking place alongside the opening of the UN General Assembly’s 77th session, will also discuss the impact of the energy crisis and opportunities created by new technologies and trends.
The EnergyNow SDG7 Action Forum is organized by UN-Energy, a consortium of nearly thirty UN agencies and international organizations who collaborate on various aspects of energy, with the aim of catalysing achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 7 on affordable and clean energy for all by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050.
