Tuesday, October 21, 2003 | On Tuesday, 21 October, delegates to the West Asia Regional Implementation Meeting in preparation for CSD-12 held a brief closing Plenary to adopt the meeting's report. A consolidated report on follow-up activities in the field of water, sanitation and human settlements, including comments made during the meeting, will be submitted to CSD-12 as the input from the Arab region.


Mahmoud Hewehy, Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs of Egypt, chairs the closing Plenary of the meeting.


Emad Adly, Arab Network for Environment and Development, stresses that poverty is a key issue in the Arab region and should be the basis of the reports on water, sanitation, and human settlements.
