Highlights for Saturday, 29 March 2014

IPCC WGII-10 and IPCC-38On Saturday, IPCC WGII continued working on its contribution to the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5), to finish going through the text and resolve outstanding issues. The Group focused on, inter alia, future risks across sectors and regions, sectoral risks and potential for adaptation, and climate-resilient pathways and transformation. Various contact and informal groups convened throughout the day and night to address some of the more contentious issues. participants worked through the night to conclude discussions on the report.

The session ended on Sunday at 3:30 pm with the adoption of the WGII Summary for Policymakers report. Participants dedicated the report to the memory of Professor Yuri Antonievich Izrael for his indefatigable commitment to the IPCC.
