4:00 pm: IFCS President Suwit Wibulpolprasert declared IFCSV (Forum V) officially closed at 3:53 pm.

Forum V reaches agreement on the future of IFCS and the Budapest Statement on Mercury, Lead and Cadmium.

MORNING PLENARY

12:30 pm: Senegal has offered to host IFCS Forum VI, in Dakar.

The following documents have been approved:
Agenda Item 5: Future of IFCS – approved as presented
Agenda Item 7: Applying precaution in the context of chemical safety – approved with minor amendments
Agenda Item 10: Toys and Chemical Safety – approved with minor amendments
Agenda Item 12bis: Topics for the future Forum of IFCS – IFCS Secretariat agreed to forward the presented list to the FSC for consideration

Plenary is now scheduled to resume at 2:00 pm. The ad hoc working group on heavy metals, and the Latin American and Caribbean Region Group are currently in session.

11:38 am: Plenary opened at 10:00 am this morning, most agenda itens have already been agreed upon. Plenary suspended at 11:15 am for final Ad Hoc Working Group deliberations. Plenary is expected to resume at 12:00 pm, and the IFCS-V is expected to close by early afternoon.
